avoiding errors when dispensing erectile dysfunction meds (Viagra, Cialis, etc)

The new drug, Staxyn (STAX-in), is putting attention on avoiding errors when dispensing erectile dysfunction meds (Viagra, Cialis, etc).

Staxyn isn't too exciting. It's just the orally disintegrating form of a 10 mg Levitra tab. Both contain 10 mg of vardenafil.

But the dosage form difference is leading to misunderstandings. Some patients...and prescribers...think this means Staxyn starts working faster than Levitra. It does NOT...the med is still swallowed in the saliva and absorbed in the stomach...just like the others.
