New guidelines shed light on preventing heart attacks and strokes in patients who already have cardiovascular disease.
Antiplatelets. Experts are finally reaching agreement on the dose of aspirin. Recommend 75 to 162 mg/day for most heart patients.
But recommend 325 mg/day for up to 6 months after a stent... or up to one year after coronary bypass surgery.
