Here's a new twist. Merck-Medco will now provide samples of GENERICS to physicians.

Sampling generics instead of brand-name drugs can save big bucks...just a 1% increase in the use of generics nationally would save over $1 BILLION each year.

Physicians will get mailings from Merck-Medco to promote the use of generics. Some will also be detailed by pharmacists.
