close to approving two different drug regimens for treating ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori

The FDA is close to approving two different drug regimens for treating ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori.

These will be the first drugs to get approved for this indication. This means that companies will finally be able to promote them for this use.

One regimen is dual therapy with Biaxin (clarithromycin) and Prilosec (omeprazole). (Biaxin 500 mg TID and Prilosec 40 mg/day for 2 weeks...followed by 2 more weeks of Prilosec 20 mg/day.)
